Not necessarily cause for celebration, but today is the 46th anniversary of the shipwreck that destroyed the old West Seattle bridge, so the photo featured today is a recently restored tribute along the trail to a key figure in the disaster, Rolf Neslund. (We stopped to take a photo while covering the event on Sunday.) We’re not aware of any commemorative events happening today – although we just got “Happy Saint Rolf’s Day!” reminder from the statue’s steward Lars Fujikawa With Delridge Maritime Historical Society as we wrote it – but here are the other most important events from WSB West Seattle events calendar: :
