Tire Recycling Day in Indianapolis on June 15

INDIANAPOLIS — The Marion County Department of Public Health is hosting a tire recycling day to combat mosquitoes.

Marion County residents can dispose of their unused tires for free on Saturday, June 15 from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tires must be removed from the rim, from passenger vehicles, and there is a limit of six tires.

Two locations have been set for June 15:

“We encourage residents to take a few minutes each week to walk around their yard or property and look for places where there is standing water,” said Matt Sinsko, mosquito control coordinator for the Marion County Department of Public Health. “Drain water from any size container and rinse bird baths frequently. Also check for clogged gutters, small recreational pools and malfunctioning septic tanks.
