(Dallas County, IA) – The Dallas County Sheriff’s Office will purchase a therapy dog ​​for the jail. The dog will be used for interviewing victims, peer support, grief and trauma support, and to maintain office hygiene. The sheriff’s office is now accepting names for a cream-colored male Golden Retriever.

The Dallas County Sheriff’s Office is working with Crisis K9’s of the Midlands. A Dallas County Foundation grant will help defer costs. .

The sheriff’s office will collect suggested names and conduct an internal vote to name its newest K9 employee.
