Ryan Flournoy steals the show during Cowboys minicamp

After firing Michael Gallup in the offseason, the Dallas Cowboys have a chance at wide receiver. 2022 second-round draft pick Jalen Tolbert is the favorite to take the third wing spot behind CeeDee Lamb and Brandin Cooks, but he hasn’t done enough to earn the spot. And if he’s not careful, he might find Ryan Flournoy threatening to take some photos of him.

Flournoy, a sixth-round pick out of Southeast Missouri State, had one game after another during offseason training. This continued during their mandatory minicamp, as the 6-foot-1, 202-pounder dominated the competition.

Patrik Walker of the team’s official website says he expects the rookie to “make some waves” after detailing the back-post touchdown catch. Walker added that the defender never had a chance to stop the play.

As a sixth-round pick, Flournoy was never guaranteed to make the 53-man roster. However, he joined the right team. Not only are the Cowboys playing poorly on the wing behind their two stars, but CeeDee Lamb is struggling to get a new contract.

That opened the door for Flournoy, whose name will be one to watch when the team heads to Oxnard in July for training camp.
