The Patriots waived Lions linebacker Steele Chambers on Tuesday afternoon. In a similar move, the team waived the call-up of linebacker Jay Person.

Chambers, another undrafted free agent, was released by the Lions on Monday. Over the past three seasons as a starter at Ohio State, the 6-foot-10, 229-pound linebacker has totaled 208 tackles, 13 tackles for loss, three sacks, four interceptions, five pass breakups, one fumble recovery, one forced fumble and one touchdown. .
