Impact Arts presents the cast of the Austin 2024 summer picture

Impact Arts has revealed the cast and creators for Season 20 of Summer Stock Austin, including the classic musical Guys & Dolls based on the MGM film and Disney’s The Little Mermaid based on the Hans Christen Andersen story and the Disney film.

In partnership with Texas Performing Arts, Summer Stock Austin 2024 will bring live performances to the McCullough Theater from July 27 to August 11, 2024, with a special, one-night-only 20 Seasons Spectacular anniversary event on July 20, commemorating two decades of excellence theater and professional youth performances. Seasonal performances will be performed on a rotating basis, on various schedules. Tickets are now on sale at Impactarts.org/ssa-2024.

The 20 Seasons Spectacular is a one-night-only show where alumni and current talent unite to celebrate the 20th season of Summer Stock Austin! This special event features songs and dances from beloved Summer Stock Austin musicals of the past and exciting announcements of future productions honoring the 20-year legacy and embracing the promise of the next 20 years! Casting and information for 20 Seasons Spectacular will be announced at a later date. Tickets now on sale.

“As we enter our 20th season, I cannot contain my immense pride and excitement,” said Summer Stock Austin producer and artistic director Ginger Morris. “The spotlight this year is on our incredible alumni who now lead our creative teams. It is a celebration of our journey, our history and the incredible community we have built together. Get ready for an unforgettable season. In addition to Disney’s “The Little Mermaid” and “Guys & Dolls,” we will premiere a brand new musical documentary, and our “20 Seasons” show will feature over 25 alumni and 75 current company members. This season is about the passion, talent and dedication that make Summer Stock Austin so special as everyone returns home where their dreams began and the sparks were ignited within them.”

Summer Stock Austin returns for its 20th anniversary season in 2024 with a host of offerings: 20 Seasons directed by Ginger Morris with musical direction by Adam Roberts and choreography by Sara Burke, Ginger Morris, Matt Kennedy and Peyton Calhoon, classic favorites The Little Mermaid directed and choreographed by Matt Kennedy with musical direction by Marita Stryker and Adam Roberts and Guys & Dolls directed by Greg Almanza with choreography by Noah Wood and Ginger Morris with musical direction by Marita Stryker and Adam Roberts, with additional shows for season 20 to be announced .

The 2024 Summer Stock design team consists of Rachel Atkinson as lighting designer, Teresa Carson as costume designer, Rachael Gomez of Properties Design, Jose Pardo and LEVO as sound designer, and Theada Haining as scenic designer. Art Direction: Ginger Morris with Associate Art Direction: Donelvan Thigpen and Peyton Calhoon. The management team includes Ellena Martinez, Sarah Hudson and Holden Fox. The production team will be complemented by a team of 40 interns and high school students involved in production, management, artistic administration and all technical fields.

Summer Stock Austin, now housed under the Impact Arts umbrella and celebrating its 20th season, is a unique production company and educational training program rolled into one. It offers high school and college students the opportunity to train, perform and engage in all aspects of theater and film production in a fast-paced, professional atmosphere – all without tuition. Summer Stock Austin culminates with high-end, fully staged musical theater productions for family audiences.
