Wingate man wins lottery in North Carolina

The winning ticket was sold at a gas station on US 74 in Wingate.

WINGATE, N.C. — A Wingate resident became $100,000 richer after winning a lottery scratch-off ticket, the North Carolina Education Lottery announced Tuesday.

Bobby Lynch of Wingate spent $30 on a 200X The Cash scratch-off ticket at the XPress Mart gas station convenience store on US 74 East in Wingate, according to the NC Lottery.

Lynch collected his winnings on Tuesday. His total winnings were $71,509 after required state and federal taxes.

According to the NC Lottery, the 200X The Cash game first debuted in March 2022. The game has six top prizes worth $5 million and 18 prizes worth $100,000. As of Tuesday, one of the $5 million prizes and one of the $100,000 prizes remain unclaimed.
