Will Courtland Sutton make it through training camp? ‘We’ll see’

ENGLEWOOD, Colo. — Courtland Sutton returned to mandatory minicamp. However, it was far from a full workload.

After undergoing off-season ankle surgery, Sutton worked primarily on the field during training while rehabbing. In particular periods he performed repetitions, at one point he gave up the pass and as punishment he did push-ups.

For most of the offseason, Courtland Sutton stayed at his home in Florida, focusing on rehabbing from an ankle injury he suffered in Week 18 that required surgery. Sutton said he and Sean Payton have agreed to a trial that includes rehabilitation in Florida before returning to Denver.

However, the question still remains whether he will return for training camp. Sutton did not participate in the voluntary OTAs due to a contract impasse. He has two years left on his contract, but relatively little of the guaranteed money remains on the deal.

When asked if he would be present at training camp, Courtland Sutton gave a non-committal answer.

“We’ll see,” he said. “We’ll see what happens.”
