Washington Post Defeats Proposed Class Action Claims Over Sales Practices

The Washington Post has dismissed a proposed class action lawsuit brought by California residents alleging it engaged in deceptive sales practices.

However, the court gave the plaintiffs 21 days to submit a supplement to the complaint.

The plaintiffs alleged that the newspaper advertised false “sale” prices for its digital subscriptions in violation of California’s false and misleading advertising law, the Unfair Competition Law and the Consumer Remedies Act.
