FORECAST DISCUSSION:

Good Tuesday evening,

After a chilly morning when most of us were in our 40s, today was a beautiful day. We’ll have another brisk night ahead of us tonight. Temperatures won’t be as chilly overnight, with partly cloudy skies and highs in the mid-50s. Temperatures will rise above normal again on Wednesday, with mostly sunny skies and highs in the mid-80s.

Expect a warmer day on Thursday, with temperatures in the upper 80s to near 90 degrees and mostly sunny skies. From Thursday night to Friday morning, a cold front will pass through our area, with the possibility of showers and perhaps an isolated thunderstorm. Temperatures will remain in the mid to upper 60s for early Friday, but will be a bit cooler but still above normal in the mid 80s.

The weekend will start on Saturday with a somewhat seasonal start, with sunny skies and highs around 80 degrees. The heat will begin on Sunday, with the hottest air of the year arriving. Temperatures on Sunday will tie the yearly high very close to 90, and on Monday under sunny skies the temperature will reach the low to mid 90s. On Tuesday, as the high moves east, the heat will continue but drop slightly to the lower 90s and higher humidity.

This will put heat index values in the upper 90s to near 100 degrees early next week, and as the high moves east, afternoon thunderstorms are possible Tuesday.
