The Seattle Seahawks embark on a rare joint practice with another NFL team

It’s rare for the Seattle Seahawks to have practice sessions with another NFL team, and that’s likely due to the team’s location in the top left corner of the map. But one of those rare events will happen this summer.

How will new Seahawks OC Grubb have to adapt the playbook to the NFL?

The Seahawks and Tennessee Titans announced Tuesday that they will hold two joint practices on Wednesday, Aug. 14, and Thursday, Aug. 15.

What makes it practical? The Seahawks are scheduled to be in Nashville on Saturday, August 17 for their preseason game against the Titans at 4 p.m. This is the second match between both teams on the 2024 schedule.

Joint training will take place at Ascension Saint Thomas Sports Park in Nashville.

It makes sense that the Seahawks and Titans would team up as both enter their first seasons under new head coaches. Seattle has hired Mike Macdonald, former defensive coordinator of the Baltimore Ravens and the University of Michigan, while Tennessee is currently under the tutelage of Brian Callahan, who was most recently the offensive coordinator of the Cincinnati Bengals.

Both Macdonald, 36, and Callahan, 40, are young, new head coaches in the NFL taking over franchises and recently parted ways with long-tenured coaches. The Seahawks went 9-8 in Pete Carroll’s 14th and final year in Seattle in 2023, while the Titans went 6-11 and fired Mike Vrabel after six seasons as coach.

Last season, the Seahawks defeated the Titans 20-17 on Christmas Eve in Week 16.
