The Ohio River Way Challenge ends in Louisville

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WAVE) – The rowing team arrived in Louisville on Tuesday after a 10-day trip from Portsmouth, Ohio.

The Ohio River Way team traveled approximately 400 km in an effort to draw attention to the Ohio River’s natural beauty, cultural heritage and numerous outdoor recreation opportunities.

WAVE News spoke with someone who took part in the challenge and told us there is plenty of beauty along the Ohio.

“People think you have to go west or around the world to see these absolutely stunning views, but all you have to do is go to the Ohio River,” Forest Clevenger said. “It means that there are wild places and that’s why it was worth getting a little hot, sweating a little, smelling a little, but you can always swim in the river.”
