The next Buc-ee’s to Nashville will open this month in Kentucky

Nashvillians will no longer have to travel more than a hundred miles to get their famous Buc-ee’s brisket, homemade fudge, or Texas barbecue. The giant southern travel center will open a new location in Kentucky this summer.

The new store will offer favorite snacks, merchandise and spotless bathrooms in Smith’s Grove, 38 miles from Bowling Green and 70 miles from Nashville. This isn’t the first Buc-ee’s restaurant to open in the Bluegrass State. Smith’s Grove’s grand opening comes just two years after the Richmond location opened.

Visitors and travelers will be able to find thousands of snacks, meals and beverages, gasoline and clothing that have earned the chain a cult following since opening its first store in Texas in 1982.

Once Buc-ee’s Smiths Grove opens, Buc-ee’s will operate 50 stores in Texas and the South. The chain began a multi-state expansion in 2019. Buc-ee’s has since opened centers in Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, South Carolina, Tennessee, Missouri, Colorado, Virginia and Mississippi.

“We are very excited to celebrate the grand opening of our newest travel center on this beautiful stretch of I-65 between Nashville and Louisville,” Stan Beard, Buc-ee’s director of real estate and development, said in a press release.

“Smiths Grove may be small, but the community has embraced us with the same love and enthusiasm as our largest cities, and we’re thrilled to be here and watch this partnership grow,” he added.

According to a press release, the Smiths Grove location will create at least 200 jobs in the area, with starting wages starting “well above” minimum wage, full benefits, 6% matching 401k. and three weeks paid vacation.

When will the new Buc-ee’s location open?

Buc-ee’s Smiths Grove opens on Monday, June 24. Doors will open to the public at 6 a.m. Central Time with a ribbon cutting ceremony at 12 p.m.
