The Jacksonville House of Worship will host a Community Block Party

House of Prayer Church of God in Christ is hoping for better weather Saturday for the rescheduled block party.

The church planned to hold a Community Block Party on June 1, but expected rainfall prompted church leaders to postpone the event. The event is currently scheduled from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday at 400 W. State St.

The event will feature food, entertainment, bounce houses and a water tank. You will also have the opportunity to sign up for the Head Start program.

Organizers encourage participants to bring deckchairs, and smoking and drinking will be prohibited.
