Southwest is offering 53rd anniversary deals

According to monthly data from online travel agency Hopper, it’s getting harder to find the best deals on destination flights from Nashville. Luckily for travelers around the world, Southwest Airlines is hosting its annual Birthday Sale now through June 13 to celebrate the 53rd anniversary of its first flight.

Customers can get up to 50% off basic fares on select flights departing from August 6 to December 18. All you need to do is use the code BDAY before check-in and the discount code will be applied before taxes and fees.

Here are some of this year’s Southwest birthday offerings from Nashville International Airport:

To New York

With the discount code, Southwest tickets to New York’s LaGuardia Airport are starting at just $40 in August, a 37.5% discount on $64. In September and October, prices drop to just $35, and in November and December, the cheapest qualifying flights are $58.

New York, Florida, Texas and more: Flights to Nashville for $100 or less round-trip in June 2024

Return flights to Nashville will be slightly more expensive in late fall. The airline does not offer any flights to other airports in the New York area, such as JFK or Newark.

To Charlotte, North Carolina

A single nonstop flight from Nashville to Charlotte on a Saturday in August costs between $115 and $66 with the code BDAY. This flight, like many eligible flights, is in Southwest’s cheapest Wanna Get Away category and is non-refundable.

A nonstop return flight next Tuesday morning also qualifies for the discount and costs another $66. These are the cheapest flights to Charlotte available on Southwest this month

To New Orleans, Los Angeles.

Southwest’s cheapest flights to New Orleans on the Anniversary Deal are $86, reduced from an initial $155. There are several options for eligible flights departing at this price in August, September, October, November and December.

Return flights to Nashville are also available at the same price for all five months.

To Miami, Florida.

The cheapest sales code flights to Miami in August and early September are around $38. The price increases to $94 in October, November and December.

Return flight offers are around the same prices.

To Chicago, Ill.

In August, travelers from Nashville to Chicago, Illinois, can purchase tickets to one of the city’s airports – Midway or O’Hare – for as little as $49. However, return flights are much cheaper from O’Hare.

Some qualifying September flights are dropping to $33 and $39. In the later fall months, the cheapest prices return to $57 in October and $72 in November and December.
