Obituary of Donald Bjork – Columbus, IL (1927-2015)

Donald Clifton Bjork, 88, of Antioch, Illinois, died Tuesday, November 10, 2015, at the home of his daughter, Judy Bjork Guthridge, in Columbus, Georgia. He was born April 17, 1927 in Waukegan, Illinois, son of the late Hjalmer Clifton Bjork and Lydia Elizabeth (Ruchti) Bjork. He served in the United States Navy during World War II and was raised in Channel Lake, Illinois. He was a member of the American Legion. Survivors include 1 son, John (Stephanie) Bjork of Lake Forest, IL; and 4 daughters: Joan (Mike) Robinson of LaCrosse, Wisconsin; Judy (Randy) Guthridge of Columbus, Georgia; Janet (Romeo) DeLara of Lomita, California; and Jacqueline (Mark) Bellingham of Moraga, California. He has 9 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his late wife, Patricia Barbara Bjork of Channel Lake, IL; and his 3 brothers: Richard (Joy) Bjork of Zion, Illinois; Robert (Della) Bjork of Arlington Heights, Ill., and Walter, who died in infancy; and 1 sister, Martha (Roy) Hauge of Florida. Before his death, he requested that those wishing may make donations to Shriner’s Hospital for Children, 2211 N. Oak Park Ave., Chicago, Illinois 60707, in his memory.
