Maryland weather: Cool evening, hot Thursday and Friday

BALTIMOR — The refreshing and cool weather will continue into the evening. It will start to warm up on Wednesday and then it will get hotter on Thursday.

The weather has been beautiful so far, with refreshing cool air over the entire area. High temperatures in the lower to mid 70s will be followed by a crisp and cool evening and night. Temperatures will fall into the 60s in the evening, with nighttime lows in the 50s in most places. We will see partly cloudy skies. It should be a fantastic night if you’re going to the Os game.

Another day of good weather awaits us on Wednesday. High clouds will move over the region in the morning, but the weather will remain dry. We will see a mix of sun and clouds throughout the day, with highs returning to the 80s. Humidity levels will remain low.

The warmest days of the coming week will be Thursday and Friday. We’ll see plenty of sunshine on Thursday, with highs ranging from 80 to around 90 degrees. Friday will be the hottest day with highs in the lower to mid 90s. Humidity levels will not be excessive on any day, but will increase Friday afternoon.

Strong to severe thunderstorms are possible ahead of the cold front on Friday late afternoon and evening. While widespread severe weather is not expected, some storms may be severe, with gusty winds, heavy downpours and intense lightning. Most storms should leave the area by Friday evening.

Father’s Day weekend looks fabulous! Sunshine will be abundant both days, with peaks in the mid 80s.

A more intense heatwave will hit the region next week. Highs on Monday and Tuesday will reach the lower to mid 90s as humidity levels increase. The worst of the upcoming heat will be next Wednesday and Thursday, when highs could reach the 90s and wind chills could reach into the hundreds of degrees. Stay tuned as we head into next week for more updates on this potential hot spot.
