Man accused of threatening to blow up Boston Primark arraigned on assault charges – Boston 25 News

BOSTON – A Wakefield man faces multiple charges for allegedly attacking a security guard and a police officer after he threatened employees and customers at a downtown Boston store.

Williams Rodriguez-Juarez, 24, was charged with armed robbery, threatening to bomb or kidnap, assault and battery on a police officer, strangulation or strangulation, criminal trespass, resisting arrest and three counts of assault with a dangerous weapon (incl. footwear foot).

According to the Suffolk County District Attorney’s Office, on June 8, Rodriguez-Juarez entered the Primark on Summer Street around 4:42 p.m. under the influence of alcohol and began shouting at employees inside the store when they asked him to leave the loading dock area.

Rodriguez-Juarez allegedly made inappropriate sexual statements to employees and customers and became aggressive. Officials say he tried to leave the merchandise store, yelling that he was “going to blow the place up.”

Officers arrived to find Rodriguez-Juarez attacking the security guard, who was screaming, putting his hand behind his back and shouting, “You have to arrest him,” according to authorities.

Officers stepped in to help the security guard, and Rodriguez-Juarez then allegedly pushed, kicked and even bit the Boston officer until he bled.

The emergency medical team assessed the bitten officer.

“This type of conduct goes far beyond simple shoplifting,” said District Attorney Kevin Hayden. “All employees and shoppers have the right to a safe store environment, and all security guards and police officers should be able to carry out their duties without resistance.”

Judge Joseph Griffin set bail for Rodriguez-Juarez at $500 and ordered him to stay away from Downtown Crossing. Rodriguez-Juarez is scheduled to return to court on Aug. 12 for a probable cause hearing.
