Louisville MSD is relocating its main office; Here’s where

Officials said the new location offers 57% more space than MSD’s current four-story office at 700 West Liberty Street.

LOUISVILLE, Ky. – Louisville MSD is moving its main office to the Park Hill neighborhood.

The new MSD location will be at 1600 W. Hill Street. The building is five stories and 130,000 square feet. Officials said it is 57% more space than MSD’s current four-story office at 700 West Liberty Street.

“This is a great opportunity for one of our largest public institutions to meet its future needs by investing in a property that will be part of our city’s thriving redevelopment corridor. We are supported and encouraged by MSD’s investment in the Park Hill neighborhood,” said Mayor Craig Greenberg.

According to a press release, on May 15, MSD completed the sale of the new property, which was previously owned by Clariant.

Officials say the transition to the new facility will take place in 2024–2025.

“Today’s property acquisition sets the stage for decades of future municipal services for this community,” said Marita Willis, MSD board chair. “This move will allow MSD to better collaborate, make a greater impact and provide a great place for employees to work and grow.”

“As a provider of three key public services in MSD, we must be innovative in our services to a growing community,” added Tony Parrott, executive director. “Today’s action will enable MSD to expand its reach to better serve the region, bring our teams together in a collaborative space, and enable us to play a key role in an exciting new chapter for the Park Hill district.”
