Kyrie Irving’s honest quote about Boston Celtics star Jaylen Brown

By meerna Jun12,2024

On Wednesday evening, the Dallas Mavericks will host the Boston Celtics in Game 3 of the NBA Finals.

Before the game (Tuesday), Kyrie Irving met with the media and talked about his former teammate Jaylen Brown (h/t NBA TV).

Irving: β€œHe’s playing great. He was one of the emotional leaders on their team, but defensively he finds that difficult. That’s what he’s been doing all year, and he’s really been trying to make a name for himself over the last few years. When you take pride in what you do defensively, it will show. I think he’s really separated himself on this issue. Offensively, the ability to do this on both ends of the court is evenly more impressive. That’s what makes the finals even more great, going up against someone so great in that respect, he has a lot of energy and it will make it difficult, but we have to go straight for him.

The Celtics lead the series 2-0 and recently won the second game by a score of 105-98.

Brown finished the game with 21 points, four rebounds, seven assists and three steals while shooting 8/15 from the field and 1/5 from three-point range in 42 minutes of play.

As for Irving, he struggled in the first two games of the series.

In Game 2, he scored 16 points, two rebounds and six assists, shooting 7/18 from the field and 0/3 from three-point range in 41 minutes of play.
