KB Askland, 88

KB Askland, 88, of Austin, Minnesota, passed away on Saturday, June 8, 2024, at his home in Austin. KB was born on February 20, 1936 in Slater, Iowa, the son of Kermit Benjamin and Mary (Lyons) Askland. He graduated from St. Ansgar High School in 1954 and started working as a lineman at Montana. On November 24, 1962, he married Sandra Beck at Six Mile Grove Lutheran Church in Lyle, Minnesota. They were members of Grace Lutheran Church in Austin. After the closure of the Golden Dairy, KB became a union electrician working in various industries until his retirement. He was an avid member of The Eagles, American Legion and The Moose. His true passion in life was trap shooting.

KB is survived by his children: Connie (Bill) Hardwick of Austin, Kermit (Lorie) Askland of London, Minnesota, and Timothy Askland; four grandchildren: Brandy Hardwick, Billie Jo Braaten, Katie Hardwick, Danny Hayes; and eight great-grandchildren: Kennedy, Ireland, Cody, Addison, Max, Gaige, Lyric, Khloe and Kaiden. He was preceded in death by his parents, Kermit and Mary Askland; wife, Sandra Askland; son, Craig “Max” Maxfield; siblings, Keith Askland and Ramona Dente.

A celebration of K. B’s life will take place on Sunday, June 23, 2024, from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at the Worlein-Hoff Funeral Home. Burial will be in Grandview Cemetery.
