JV investor is checking out a mixed-use project on 7 acres in Nashville

Marquette Cos. and Origin Investments are seeking approval from Nashville’s planning agency for a mixed-use development at 1000 Hawkins St., on the site of the former Beaman car dealership.

North Edgehill Commons will consist of five buildings, two eight-story buildings and three five-story buildings.

Plans for the nearly 7-acre development include more than 700 apartments, including studios, one- and two-bedroom apartments and 26 terraced houses. The development will also offer 35,000 square feet of retail and restaurant space.

Nashville-based Thomas & Hutton is the project’s lead engineer, with architectural plans provided by Atlanta-based Dynamik Design.

The Nashville Business Journal reports that in 2021, Marquette Cos. paid $42.32 million for a 6.79-acre plot. On July 25, the Marquette Cos. project. and Origin will obtain approval from the Metro Planning Department.
