Archbishop Allen H. Vigneron announces the following appointments:

Monsignor Gary Smetanka appointed Moderator for In Solidum team of parish priests of Our Lady Star of the Sea in Grosse Pointe Woods; Parish of St. Veronica, Eastpointe; Parish of St. Lucia, St. Claire Shores; Parish of St. Joan of Arc, St. Claire Shores; Parish of St. Basil the Great in Eastpointe, which forms the SERF 2 Vicariate Family, where he currently serves as a member In Solidum a team of priests who will be the pastors of this family from July 1, 2024.

Reverend Gregory Banazak receives permission to accept a full-time position as a theology teacher at the University of Detroit Mercy and to be assigned weekend support for priests In Solidum a team of priests who are pastors of Our Lady of the Woods Parish in Woodhaven; Parish of the Sacred Heart of Jesus, Grosse Ile; Parish of St. Cyprian, Riverview; Parish of St. Joseph in Trenton; Parish of St. Rocha, Flat Rock; Parish of St. Timothy, Trenton; constituting the Family of the Parish of the Missionaries of Christ in Dolna Rzeka, effective from August 16, 2024. Fr. Banazak currently serves as a priest in solidum in the same Parish Family.
