JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — Jacksonville was named the worst city in America for summer travel by Forbes Advisor, based on restaurant ratings, flight delays, crime rate and other factors cited in the article.

In a promotional article about travel insurance, Forbes Advisor compared “43 of the most populous cities with available data across 16 indicators to discover the worst places to visit this summer.”

A Forbes study found that Jacksonville was the worst place to vacation during the summer. Minneapolis performed best.

Jacksonville scored as high as it can get in Forbes’ metrics, in a bad way, scoring 100 out of 100.

Here are the categories in which Forbes said Jacksonville performed poorly:

  • Lowest scores for walkability and third lowest for access to public transport.
  • Jacksonville International Airport sees the second highest percentage of flight disruptions during the summer (28.9% average).
  • Sixth place in terms of the number of parking spaces and garages (1.49 per 100,000 inhabitants).
  • Eighth highest crime rate (63.99 crimes per 1,000 inhabitants).
  • Ranks eighth for fewest restaurants with four or more stars on Tripadvisor (728).

Tampa is the next Florida city to make the list of the 10 worst cities for summer travel, ranking eighth.
