Charlotte Buck ’18CC named to the U.S. squad for the 2024 Paris Olympics

PRINCETON, NJ — USRowing announced its squad for the 2024 Paris Olympics, which includes Columbia alum Charlotte Buck ’18CC in the women’s eight and Alexander Hedge ’19CC as an alternate.

Rowing at the 2024 Paris Olympics will take place from July 27 to August 4. Buck will be racing in her second Olympic Games after also competing in the Tokyo Games in 2020. The Nyack, New York native raced in the women’s eight and placed fourth in Tokyo.

Buck was a first-team All-Ivy League selection in 2018, a two-time first-team All-Region selection by the Collegiate Rowing Coaches Association (2017 and 2018) and was named to the Pocock Second Team All-America during her career at Columbia.

The United States qualified 12 crews for the Olympic Games, tying with Romania for qualifying the most boats for the Paris races.

Hedge rowed in the stroke positions on the Varsity Eight team at the EARC Sprints and IRA National Championships during his senior year at Columbia. The Morristown, New Jersey native rowed on the Varsity Eight team for three years and was a member of the 2016 IRA Academic Team.
