Festival of love

Riverwalk (by Winston Family YMCA) | Riverside

The second LOVE Festival begins on Friday, making this mini art and music festival, curated and organized by the popular Duval hip-hop collective LOVE Culture, annual event. This year’s edition, which will once again be held on the Riverwalk next to the Winston Family YMCA in Riverside, features live music on multiple stages, arts and crafts vendors, food trucks, kid-friendly animations and more. 16:00 – 22:00 Participation is free. Jax Digital Art Festival

WJCT Sound Stage | Downtown Jacksonville

Jax Digital Art Fest is an annual event exploring emerging digital art mediums, from immersive art and virtual reality to film and fashion, featuring experts in the field who deliver talks on the digital art scene. Prices vary depending on the session. Noon – 22:00 Tickets and more information.

James Weldon Johnson’s birthday celebration

James Weldon Johnson Park | Downtown Jacksonville

A celebration of the life and influence of Jacksonville poet, author and civil rights activist James Weldon Johnson will be held Saturday at its namesake James Weldon Johnson Park. The LaVilla resident, a key figure in the Harlem Renaissance, wrote “Lift Every Voice and Sing.” The event on the day of the service is a park cleanup, which also includes music and poetry readings and food truck performances. 9:00 – 13:00 Learn more and sign up for a park cleaning shift.

Sean Mason Jazz Quartet

Couldn’t get enough of jazz at this year’s Jacksonville Jazz Festival?
