18 nonprofit organizations will receive support to help communities in the Jacksonville Beaches

Eighteen nonprofit organizations serving the Jacksonville Beaches neighborhoods recently received grants of approximately $290,000 from The Community Foundation for Northeast Florida.

The grants came from the foundation’s Beaches Community Fund, a collective donor circle of 35 families who each contribute annually to a grant pool that has invested approximately $2.3 million in nonprofits since 2015.

Here are the biggest grants:

‘Extraordinary’: Delores Barr Weaver is donating $61 million to Jacksonville-area nonprofits

  • BEAM (Beach Emergency Assistance Ministry) – $40,000

  • Jacksonville City Year – $30,000

  • Feeding Northeast Florida/Northeast Florida Regional Food Bank – $30,000

  • Blessings in a backpack – $25,000

  • Ministry of Relief in Emergency Situations of St. John – $25,000

  • Habitat Beaches for Humanity – $20,000

  • Communities in Jacksonville Schools – $20,000

  • Mission Home – $20,000

  • Northeast Florida Nonprofit Center – $19,000

  • Episcopal Children’s Services – $18,685

  • Boys & Girls Clubs of Northeast Florida – $10,000

  • Here tomorrow – $10,000

  • Play Garden – $10,000.
