Shooting in downtown Seattle, two people injured

A shooting erupted in downtown Seattle on Saturday evening, injuring two men, sparking an investigation by the Seattle Police Department (SPD). The incident occurred in the 1800 block of Minor Avenue, prompting a quick response from law enforcement.

According to SPD, officers responded to a report of a shooting around 9:49 p.m. Upon arrival, they found a 26-year-old man who had suffered two gunshot wounds. The Seattle Fire Department arrived shortly thereafter and provided immediate medical attention to the injured person.

The victim was then transported to Harborview Medical Center in serious condition, SPD confirmed. Meanwhile, further investigation by police revealed that the shooting was preceded by an argument between the two men involved. In an act of courage, the 39-year-old security guard tried to intervene but was grazed by a bullet. Fortunately, his injuries were not life-threatening.

The suspect managed to flee the scene before the arrival of law enforcement officers and has not yet been arrested. However, evidence left behind indicates that the shooting caused additional damage to a nearby business and vehicle. Many shell casings were collected and two firearms were seized as key evidence.

According to SPD, detectives from the Gun Violence Reduction Unit quickly arrived on scene to investigate the crime scene and take lead in the ongoing investigation. Their knowledge will be crucial in unraveling the circumstances of the shooting and determining the motives for the fight.
