On June 9, 18-year-old Tyler Johnson was arrested for burglary, arson of property and contributing to the delinquency of a minor. At approximately 10:00 a.m., Gracie Wimsatt, an employee of the Pleasant Green Park Pool, notified authorities that when opening the pool this morning, she noticed the lock and chain to the front gate were missing, adding that they were locked and secured by staff at approximately 7:45 p.m. June. When she entered the pool area to check if anyone was still there, she discovered that a large poolside trash bin with a small grill inside had caught fire, and two tables, one plastic and one metal, had been destroyed.

The total value of the damaged property was $455. When officers reviewed the flock’s camera, they identified one of the subjects, a juvenile who stated she was at a pool party hosted by a man using the name “TR”, later identified as Johnson. He added that he drank and smoked marijuana at the party. Johnson agreed to meet with police at the police station, where he said he had sent a message on Instagram to the person selling the park key. He explained that in the park he met an unidentified man in a white SUV who left the key near the bushes. Johnson stated, “I opened both gates myself. I threw the chain away and I’m not sure where it went. He then admitted to bringing marijuana and vodka to the party and, on leaving, throwing his small metal grill into a plastic trash can.
