Nicole Owens falls asleep at the wheel, tells officers she drank THC gummies and Xanax – Scoop: Nashville

On June 11, 51-year-old Nicole Owens was arrested for DUI and violation of implied consentvol. Officers received a call to a Forrest Place residence regarding a suspicious vehicle. When they arrived, they observed Owens sleeping in the driver’s seat of her vehicle at the intersection of Forrest Place and Roundwood Forrest Drive. When she woke up, she told them she had only been there 20 minutes. She agreed to a sobriety test and performed poorly before admitting that she had taken several “sips” from a half-empty bottle of Pecan Whiskey, which was later found in the backseat of her car. She also admitted to taking THC gummies from a vape shop and 0.5 mg of Xanax. After being read the implied consent, she refused to provide a chemical sample and was detained in connection with the incident.

Nicole N. Owens, of Monoco Drive in Spring Hill, Tennessee, was booked into the Metro Nashville Jail on June 10 on a charge of DUI. The court commissioner set her bail at $2,000, and the Davidson County Sheriff’s Office granted her temporary release from the facility.
