Hundreds of caged animals died in a fire at the Chatuchak weekend market in Thailand

Early Tuesday morning, a fire ripped through part of the famous Chatuchak weekend market in Thailand’s capital Bangkok, killing people. hundreds of animals in cages, including dogs, cats, birds, fish and snakes, the Bangkok Metropolitan Administration said.

The fire broke out around 4 a.m. local time and was extinguished about 25 minutes later, deputy administration spokesman Chayakorn Kumchoke said in a telephone interview Tuesday. He said about 800 animals were killed, all sold as pets.
