More than 1M still without power in Texas. See updated outage map

It’s been three days since Hurricane Beryl made landfall near Matagorda, Texas, and as of Thursday morning, more than a million customers were still without power.

Southeast Texas and the Houston area are also expected to see another day of high temperatures, with heat indices expected to be above 100°F, according to the National Weather Service.

Here’s what CenterPoint Energy and Entergy Texas had to say about their progress:

CenterPoint and Entergy provide information on power outages

As of Wednesday evening, CenterPoint Energy said it had restored power to more than 1 million of its 2.26 million customers who were affected by the peak outages. Work to restore power to nearly 1 million more customers is ongoing.

Entergy also provided an update on X, saying it has restored power to more than 50% of customers affected by outages, and the company aims to restore power to at least 75% by Friday.
