Even though several other area events were canceled Wednesday due to unsettled weather, the Westfield Washington Public Library (WWPL) didn’t let the wind and rain spoil their foamy fun.

“It’s probably our most popular event,” said Nancy Haggard, assistant director of public services at WWPL. “Everybody asks for it.”

With support from Apex Benefits, WWPL offered four sessions of foam play and games with Foam Happy of Indiana. Haggard said all four sessions were booked for 75 children each, with 10 to 12 children on a waiting list, and kids of all ages seemed to have a great time on the new building’s large north patio.

The Foam Happy cannon can cover an area approximately 30 feet by 30 feet with five feet of colorless, hypoallergenic, pet-friendly foam in minutes. The biodegradable bubble foam is also grass-safe and designed to dissipate in the sun.

Check out upcoming kids events hosted by WWPL, including Science Heroes: Adventure of the Lost Treasure on July 18, Funtime Adventure Magic Show with Daniel Lusek on July 22, and Library Mini Golf on July 30 and 31.
