Man charged with damaging home in East Nashville, TN

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) — A 28-year-old man was arrested Wednesday after he allegedly stole a car, broke into a home and damaged it in East Nashville.

The situation began when officers were called to Long Avenue in reference to a disorderly person. The caller told officers he had let a man into his home who was screaming for help.

According to court documents, the man fled the home and police received a report of the same person vandalizing another home on Long Avenue.

A witness from the other property told police he heard someone in the basement of the home and saw a man banging on the windows to get inside.

The witness then allegedly saw a man get into a rental car and honk his horn. The man fled and officers stopped him near an apartment building. The vehicle was found abandoned nearby and officers determined it had been stolen by a disorderly man, later identified as Deangelo Taylor.
