Man carjacked outside Memphis Walgreens on July 4

MEMPHIS, Tenn. (WMC) – The Memphis Police Department is asking for the public’s help in identifying suspects involved in an armed carjacking that happened on July 4th in southeast Memphis.

Police said that at 1:22 a.m. Thursday, officers were dispatched to the Walgreens store at 3670 Riverdale Road where a 2019 Infiniti QX60 was stolen from a man at gunpoint.

The victim told police she was sitting in her car in front of the store when a red sedan pulled up in front of her and two armed men got out.

Police say the victim was forcibly removed from the car, after which both suspects got inside and drove away, followed by a red sedan.

One of the suspects is a tall, thin man who was last seen wearing a black ski mask, a light-colored hoodie, blue jeans, white shoes and a black backpack.

The second suspect was described as a slim man of average height, last seen wearing a black ski mask, a multi-colored hoodie, blue underwear, black pants and white shoes.

No information was released about the suspected driver of the red sedan.

The crime was captured on surveillance footage.

No arrests have been made. Anyone with information should call CrimeStoppers at 901-528-CASH.
