IU Health Momentum Indy Prepares for 2-Day 2024 Cycling Festival – Indianapolis News | Indiana Weather | Indiana Traffic

This IU Indy Health Momentum is a two-day cycling festival where everyone will find something for themselves.

Jennifer Cvar, Founder and Executive Director, joined us to talk about the event, including details about the two main races and how to sign up for a local bike ride or kids’ race.

The festivities will kick off Friday, July 12 from 4:00 to 10:00 p.m. with the Mass Ave Crit. This race is one of the premier events in America and a stop on the American Criterium Cup Professional Series.

Saturday, July 13 at 9 a.m. is the Honor Major Taylor Fondo presented by VQ Labs and Zipp. This ride is open to riders of all skill levels and features Major Taylor-themed locations along the Indianapolis route.

Participants can choose from distances of 14 miles, 30 miles and 62 miles. Teams can compete for honors such as most miles ridden as a team and most team members. The ride starts at 240 N. Meridian St. and invites everyone to ride at their own pace.

Saturday will feature the Indy Crit and Kids Race presented by Riley Children’s Health, providing families with a day of criterium racing for professionals and amateurs.

The event will feature cycling and fitness classes, food trucks and refreshments for all ages. Races will be held from 10 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., with kids’ classes scheduled from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. At 12:20 p.m., kids ages 3-12 can take part in the kids’ race.

The event will be held at University Park, 307 N. Meridian St., and promises a welcoming, family-friendly atmosphere.
