Grizzlies vs. Thunder NBA Summer League Prediction, Odds, and Key Players for July 10

The Memphis Grizzlies benched several of their best young players — Zach Edey, GG Jackson II, Jake LaRavia and Scotty Pippen Jr. — in Tuesday night’s win over the Philadelphia 76ers, but they could return to action as early as Wednesday.

The latest odds for the Memphis vs. Oklahoma City Thunder summer league matchup suggest that some of them will be in the game, as the Grizzlies are 7.5-point favorites.

OKC is coming off a landslide victory over the Utah Jazz on Tuesday night, but can they improve to 2-1 with a win as an underdog?

Here’s everything you need to know about this summer league match.

Memphis Grizzlies

Zach Edey: Edey could be back in action tonight after Tuesday’s win over Philadelphia. The new Memphis Grizzlies center made his debut Monday night and did not disappoint, scoring 14 points on 7-of-12 shooting, grabbing 15 rebounds and blocking four shots in 34 minutes of play.

Oklahoma City Thunder

Ousmane Dieng: There is a chance Dieng will not play in this game after scoring 20 points on 8-of-18 shooting Tuesday night. A former lottery pick, Dieng is looking to prove he belongs in the NBA after playing sparingly over the past two seasons.

Note: Lineups are very fluid in the Summer League, and teams will be sitting on the bench to look at other prospects. These key players to watch — and upcoming projections — are based on teams playing in expected lineups.

OKC doesn’t have a ton of NBA-level talent on the roster this summer, as young players like Cason Wallace, Chet Holmgren and Jalen Williams have all come up just short of the Summer League mark.

Memphis lost despite all four of its top young players seeing action against the Utah Jazz earlier this summer, and there’s no telling how many minutes Memphis will be willing to give all of its players tonight.

With such a wide spread, I have no qualms about betting on OKC dominating the Utah Jazz on Tuesday night. Utah has 13 players on the roster or in the two-way summer league, so even with Keyonte George, Walker Kessler and Taylor Hendricks sidelined, Tuesday’s win was impressive for the Thunder.

I’m betting OKC will cover the spread in this match.

Selection: Thunder +7.5 (-110)
