Deadpool and Wolverine Are Sold by Homage, Now Backed by Ryan Reynolds

Columbus-based sportswear company Homage brought the mutant craze to market last week with the introduction of 15 new custom-designed T-shirts inspired by Marvel’s edgy antihero Deadpool and his upcoming film “Deadpool & Wolverine,” which opens June 26.

The collection launched last week in partnership with actor Ryan Reynolds’ production company Maximum Effort, and it’s the first to feature Marvel characters. The collection, cleverly named “Threadpool,” features four different design styles: “Deadpool & Wolverine,” inspired by the two characters’ crossover in the upcoming film; “Classic Cuts,” featuring familiar references that fans will instantly recognize; and “Deadpool Noir,” which features designs with a darker edge.

T-shirts from the fourth category, “Wade’s Closet,” featuring designs personally selected by Reynolds, will be available soon.

The announcement comes after Homage received a major investment in growth capital earlier this summer from Maximum Effort Investments, an investment advisory firm co-founded by Reynolds. Founded in 2007, the company offers customers the chance to showcase their interests through apparel pieces inspired by sports, music and popular culture.

Since 2007, Homage has been a licensing partner for NBA, NFL, WBNA and NCAA schools, and has notably collaborated with celebrities such as American football players Jason and Travis Kelce on their podcast “New Heights” and now with Reynolds.
