CU Denver Urban Planning Gets STEM Major

The Master of Urban Design (MUD) program at the University of Colorado Denver is now a STEM-designated degree program. This designation, effective June 2024, allows international students on F-1 visas to extend their time working in the U.S. after graduation from one year to three years.

“The new STEM designation for our MUD program increases the attractiveness of international students to study urban design in Denver. It provides CU Denver students with a new perspective on urban design and the opportunity to stay in the U.S. longer after graduation,” said MUD Program Director Ken Schroeppel.

The Master of Urban Design at CU Denver is a graduate program for individuals seeking a career in urban design practice or for current planning and design professionals who wish to enhance and expand their existing practice with knowledge and experience in urban design. Applications for the Master of Urban Design begin August 1, 2024.
