MILL SPRING—The Polk County Sheriff’s Office and Columbus Baptist Church are preparing to host their annual Back 2 School Bash, a time when students and their families can relax and have fun while receiving supplies for the upcoming school year. The free event will be held on Aug. 3 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Polk County High School.

During the event, students will be able to play games, listen to music, and enjoy other activities while receiving free school supplies like backpacks, notebooks, binders, pencils, and more. Haircuts will be offered to students who are looking forward to starting the school year with a fresh, new look.

Since joining forces for the 2022 Back 2 School Bash, PCSO and Columbus Baptist Church have been able to help hundreds of students with school supplies who otherwise would not have been able to obtain the supplies they needed on their own.

This year’s event was supported by numerous donors, volunteers and sponsors, including Carolina Chiropractic Plus, The Equine Journey, MAHEC Dental Health Center, Girl Scouts of the Carolinas, Salon 3:15, The Sanctuary at Red Bell Run, The Hope Chest, The North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services, Blue Ridge Health and many local law enforcement and first responders.

Polk County Middle School is located at 321 Wolverine Trail in Mill Spring.
