Pickleball locations in Louisville. See parks, courts, and leagues.

Pickleball continues to be a “big attraction” in the Louisville area.

According to the Sports and Fitness Industry Association, it is the fastest growing sports discipline in the country for the third year in a row.

More than 35 million Americans play pickleball, a game played with paddles on a badminton-sized court.

Courts are still being built in the Louisville area. Here are a few places to check out: Tyler Park (1501 Castlewood Ave.), Sun Valley Park (6616 Ashby Lane), PeeWee Park (2913 Klondike Lane), Riverside Gardens Park (3899 Lees Lane), Des Pres Park (4709 Lowe Road), Wyandotte Park (1104 Beecher St.), Charlie Vettiner Park (5550 Charlie Vettiner Park Road) and Hounz Lane Park (2300 Hounz Lane).

Players can also use the courts at Pickleball Euphoria (4209 Gardiner View Ave.), Little Spring Farm (11600 Vista Club Drive), Ray Lawrence Park (1021 Irving Drive, Clarksville, Indiana), Baird Urban Sports Park (615 W. Main St.), Jewish Community Center of Louisville (3600 Dutchmans Lane), EP Tom Sawyer State Park (3000 Freys Hill Road), Cyril Allgeier Community Center (4101 Cadillac Court), Logan Street Market (1001 Logan St.), Louisville Indoor Racquet Club (8609 Westport Road), Our Mother of Sorrows Church (760 Eastern Parkway) and Berrytown Recreation Center (1300 Heafer Road).

Picklers players can also join leagues in the Louisville area.

Derby City Club Pickleball League

Derby City Pickleball Club is hosting a six-week women-only ladder league for intermediate players from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Mondays through August 12 at Charlie Vettiner Park. It is also hosting a women-only ladder league from 8:50 to 11:00 a.m. Tuesdays through August 13 at Charlie Vettiner Park.

Derby City Pickleball Club is also hosting a co-ed league on Wednesday evenings from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. starting Wednesday at Charlie Vettiner Park through Aug. 14. Play will be divided into two divisions based on skill level. The men’s league, which will be played from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Thursdays through Aug. 15, will start Thursday at Charlie Vettiner Park.

The League of Extraordinary Students

The League of Xtraordinary Coeds is hosting leagues at DiOrio’s Pizza & Pub (7507 River Road in Prospect). The league is divided into beginner, social and intermediate levels. The Monday league is set to begin July 29. The Tuesday league is set to begin July 30. The Wednesday league is set to begin July 24, the Thursday league is set to begin July 18 and the Friday league is set to begin July 26.

The group also has a Sunday league that starts this weekend, but that league plays its games at American Turners Park (3125 River Road).
