Detroit rappers Peezy and Icewear Vezzo, supporters of Donald Trump, posed for photos with him Saturday at the 180 Church on Detroit’s west side. Trump spoke at church on his way to court. Black voters who overwhelmingly vote Democratic.

“I love Donald Trump,” Peezy told Bridge Detroit.

“I’m here because I wanted some members of our community to speak up on our behalf because, you know, not everyone in the black community represents everyone in the black community.”

On Icewear’s Instagram, Vezzo posted a photo of himself with Peezy and Trump and stated:

But no, seriously, not everyone will agree with this image, but we don’t all have to agree on everything. I just know that not many of us will ever have the chance to really come to grips with ourselves and say how we may really feel, so I stepped out on faith. I didn’t meet him as a rapper. I got to know him as a man and father who understands that the only way to change the situation is to address certain issues.

The church’s senior pastor, Lorenzo Sewell, told Trump he was honored to host him.

The next day, the Rev. Dr. Wendell Anthony, president of the Detroit chapter of the NAACP, criticized Trump’s visit to MSNC, saying “he didn’t articulate any policy, just the fact that he wanted to come and get some black votes.” ” He also said that there were many white people at the church meeting.
